Teams
Our club has teams for each age group, beginning with children three years old and up. We wanted to find ways to help grow soccer in our community, and we believe that getting children involved as early as possible will help that growth. Our academy is a fantastic test to see if your child would be interested in playing soccer; it is great exercise, and it is more fun when friends come out to play together. Our academy is meant to build the foundations of soccer and several basic skills.
Once players reach seven or eight years old, we progress them to our competitive youth teams to build off the foundations established in our academy. As players learn and grow under our licensed coaching staff, we challenge them to become better competitors while still maintaining that development is more important than immediate results in games.
Finally, when our players reach thirteen or fourteen years old, we encourage that team to make the jump into Tennessee State League soccer. This competition has a bigger emphasis on results as each match matters. As our players reach middle school and high school age, we want them to have experience with playing in matches under pressure as well as playing at higher levels of competition.
Our club strives to help players reach collegiate and higher levels of play in order to make receiving higher education possible if that is desired.
All of our coaches have been involved with soccer for many years. One coach, Mike Ridley, is in the Tennessee Wesleyan Hall of Fame for soccer. Other coaches, Seth Rucker and Sammy Baker, began playing with us at the start of McMinn United and are now helping push our club to higher levels as they take on roles as coaches and board members.
