YOUTH TEAMS
At McMinn United, we attempt to put together teams for each age group within one year of each other. This will keep our players closer in age and prevent any major size differences or dangerous situations. Our current ages and team breakdowns are as follows, and all teams currently play with the CLAS league in Knoxville, Tennessee on the weekends. Once teams reach the age where play becomes 11v11, our teams are advised to begin state league competition to promote a more challenging, meaningful, and competitive environment.
Boys teams:

Fielded Players by Age Group
Based on a player's age, soccer is broken down to different numbers of players on the field. This number starts off low in order to allow for each player to maximize opportunity to grow and learn in games rather than having the field be overcrowded at young ages. Each player will progress through the levels until they reach eleven players on each side on the ball. At this point, play becomes standard from thirteen years old all the way up to the World Cup.
- 4v4: eight years old and younger
- 7v7: between nine and ten years old
- 9v9: between eleven and twelve years old
- 11v11: thirteen years old and above
